This page explains the cookies this website sets, why, and how to change your mind at any time.

What cookies are

Small text files stored by your browser. They let a site remember things between page loads — a session, a preference, an analytics identifier.

Strictly necessary

We set one session cookie. It maintains your session while you use the site and protects forms against cross-site request forgery. It contains no personal information, is deleted when you close your browser, and cannot be switched off without breaking sign-in and every form on the site. Under the ePrivacy rules this category does not require consent.

We also store one small cookie recording the cookie choices you made, so we do not ask again on every page. It holds nothing but your answer.

Analytics — your choice

We would like to use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful and where people leave. No analytics cookie is set unless you accept. Until you choose, and if you decline, Google Consent Mode holds analytics storage denied and no identifier is written to your browser.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga and similar) that distinguish one visitor from another so we can count sessions. We use this in aggregate — to see that a page is read, not to identify you.

Marketing — your choice, and separate

We use the Meta Pixel to measure our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to show relevant ads to people who have visited us. It sets cookies such as _fbp and shares with Meta the fact that a browser visited a page here.

This is a separate choice from analytics, and you can accept one without the other. Until you opt in to marketing the pixel is loaded with consent revoked: no tracking call is sent to Meta and no advertising cookie is written. Accepting analytics alone does not switch it on.

Changing your mind

Select Cookie settings here or in the footer to reopen the banner and change either choice. Your decision is remembered for six months. Clearing cookies in your browser resets everything, including the record of your choice.

Third-party content

Embedded content such as a video player may set its own cookies once you interact with it. Those are governed by the provider's policy rather than ours.

Browser controls

Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of this site working. Most browsers also offer a "do not track" preference, which we honour where the provider supports it.

Changes

We update this page whenever the cookies we set change.
